Ustadh Mohammed Amar is the Director of As-Siraat. His background in biomedical sciences from Sheffield led to his pursuing a career in Histopathology. After travelling to the blessed land of Shaam, he acquired a thirst to learn the Islamic Sciences which led to his studying extensively at the University of Damascus and Mahad ul Fath institute in Syria for three years before further enhancing his studies at the Dar ul Mustafa institute in Yemen for another 2 years.

His experience in teaching, both on a secular and non-secular level, has attributed to his fresh, innovative, systematic, down to earth teaching approach. He has worked tirelessly in providing services for the Muslim youth and community as director of As-Siraat across cities in the UK and internationally which can be seen from his work in education, publications, retreats and dawah projects.

The Mawlid in the City Engagement2030 project, a global initiative to take the celebration of the birth of the Prophet alayhis salaam to the streets and to promote the true teachings of Islam has been led by Ustadh Amar, successfully tackling the rise of Islamophobia on British land.

The Messages of Mercy bus campaign, another Engagement2030 project under As-Siraat, was also successfully led by Ustadh Amar whereby over 1000 buses across the UK carried the message of “O mankind, spread peace and feed people” effectively encouraging good relationships across communities and raising awareness to the reality of Islam.

Ustadh Amar has also translated and authored several books, namely Kitab ul Aqaid, Islamic Essentials, Hadith Essentials, Qaidah Essentials and is currently working on his fifth publication as part of reforming the approach to the Islamic Education system and making Islamic Sciences accessible to all.

Ustadh Amar is also Head of Education at Hazrat Sultan Bahu Trust and Khateeb for Jumu’ah prayers, engaging the locals in thought provoking seminars and speeches with his clear, succint and eloquent delivery. He is also Head of Education at Harrow Central Mosque.

Most recently, Ustadh Amar has completed his Masters degree in Education, Management and Leadership at the University of Nottingham.

His humility, warm persona and sincerity is a testimony to his great nature and a reflection of the Prophetic traits he calls upon, inspiring others to reform their character and work towards the greater good.
