Rehiela completed her Hifdh-ul-Qur’an at the Hazrat Sultan Bahu Trust institute in 2007 becoming the first female Hafidh that the institute had produced at the age of 17.
Whilst at school, she was a Member of the Youth Parliament and she went onto attain GCSE’s and A-levels.
With a career beckoning in teaching, Rehiela decided to pursue her education by studying the Traditional Dars-e-Nizaami program under many influential scholars, in particular, the great Allamah Ghulam Muhammad Tonswi (may Allah sanctify his secret).
Having a firm belief in “giving back to the community”, she took on the role of teaching Islamic Studies and Hifdh-ul-Qur’an, whilst studying, at the Birmingham Qur’an Academy. She also has had the experience of teaching in mainstream schools for 5 years before taking on the role of teacher, author and course co-ordinator at As-Siraat.
Rehiela is currently a teacher on the Alimah course, an initiative of As-Siraat, whilst also working on publishing works as part of reforming the approach to the madrasa system in the UK. She is also working on engagement initiatives with the local and wider community as well as continuing her studies in the field of Psychology and Child Development.
Her passion to reform the approach to the Islamic Sciences, making education accessible to all whilst also maintaining traditional methods is a key element in her ambitions to make a positive contribution in society, paving the way for a brighter future.
